My name is Tanya, and I’m the admin here at NovelliFans.
I put this page together for anyone who might want a more in-depth answer as to why I started this site.
Full Disclosure: No one has actually asked me any of these questions yet. 😆 However, as a textbook Enneagram 6, I wanted to be prepared in the event that someday, someone does.
Thanks for stopping by!
FAQ
Do You Know Christina?
No, I don’t. Do you? Cause if you do, I have to say it … LUCKY!!!
As I’ve mentioned on other pages, this site was made by a fan for fans, and has no affiliation with Christina, her management or anyone on her team.
Why Did You Start This Site?
First, and foremost, I thought it would be fun. As I mentioned on the About page, I’m a library technician by trade and two of my favourite parts of library work have always been organizing information and celebrating art.
Unfortunately, losing my job as a children’s programmer at a public library during the pandemic left a pretty big hole in my life, and I’ve been searching for somewhere to put those skills to good use ever since.
Secondly, I’m autistic, and developing a site like this is a creative way for me to engage in the celebration of one of my lifelong special interests — music.
In fact, it might interest you to know that Christina is not the first musician I’ve built a fansite for, and it’s possible she won’t be the last.
(I’d link to that original site if I could, but sadly Angelfire stopped hosting it many moons ago. 😆)
Is This Site Your Job?
Nope. This site is a 100% personal, non-commercial endeavour. It’s something I choose to do in my free time (and sometimes when I should be sleeping.)
Why A Fansite Tho?
Why not just engage with Christina and other Novelli Fans on social media?
Actually, I do. Like many fans, I follow Christina on (almost) all her socials, double-tapping and dropping kind words (and fire emojis) in her comments whenever I get the chance.
However, I’m also a child of the 80s; I remember when the internet made its mainstream debut. In the decades(!!) since, I’ve watched this once wide-open, digital prairie become increasingly walled-off and siloed. I’ve watched as word-of-mouth has taken a backseat to the algorithm, and grown increasingly concerned that what’s being created is not being as widely indexed as it once was.
As an information professional, these practices make me nervous, and this site is my extremely small way of reclaiming the openness of internet days gone by, cataloging the impact that Christina’s music is having in my life for all the world to search and see.
Again, this is not a judgement against artists (or their fans) for using social media. People who make art for a living have to go where the industry leads and the attention follows. As a fan, I don’t.
And while you could easily say I’ve simply reached the age where people start waxing poetic about the way things used to be, rather than fully embracing the way things are changing, I personally prefer to think about it less as an ‘either or’ and more as a ‘both and’.
Because when has more celebration of great art ever been a bad thing?
Why Christina?
In my experience, the reason(s) an artist’s work moves us to the point of public celebration are often deeply personal, and that’s certainly the case for me.
So while the full story of why I chose to make a site devoted to Christina’s music isn’t something I’m comfortable sharing with everyone, I will tell you this.
Music has always been the thing that has helped me process my feelings — but it’s been a LONG time since I’ve found an artist who moves my heart the way that Christina does.* I know I’m not alone in this, that’s probably why you’re here.
And even though I know my appreciation for her isn’t unique; I’m just one in a crowd of thousands, somehow, Christina’s music still makes me feel like I’m special. She makes me feel seen. Hopefully that’s something you and I have in common. 🖤
What’s Your Favourite Christina Song?
Yeah right! Can you pick just one? 😁
Seriously though, I was only recently introduced to Christina’s work, so not only am I currently obsessing over her latest release, but there is an entire 12 years of back catalogue for me to explore — talk about being a kid in a candy store.
Well that’s it for now. If you’ve got a a question that I haven’t pre-emptively answered here 😆, feel free to drop me a line at miztanyabea@gmail.com, or come find me on TikTok, and I’ll get back to you asap.

*p.s. If you’re ever looking to come down from the trance with some alternative dream-pop vocals, my friend Robyn Cage has just the ticket!
